Marina Smith

Co‑Founder · Women & Leadership Platform

Marina built her life through reinvention, resilience, and conviction. Her journey — from early adversity to entrepreneurship and creative leadership — shaped a vision centered on empowering women to lead boldly and build meaningfully.

Today, Marina leads Great Castle's women's leadership platform: a venue for wealth literacy, confidence, reinvention, and purpose‑driven living.

A proud member of San Diego's Ukrainian immigrant community, Marina draws on her heritage and origins as a wellspring of conviction — and channels that spirit into a lasting philanthropic life. She serves with the Women's Fund of Rancho Santa Fe and the Rancho Santa Fe Rotary Foundation, and remains active with Country Friends and other organizations dedicated to community and cause.

Marina was recently featured on the cover of Modern Luxury San Diego, profiled among the city's power players alongside her husband, Steven.

Steven Smith

Co‑Founder · Strategic Advisory

Steven founded GCommerce, an industry‑transforming SaaS platform for the automotive aftermarket in North America, where he served as CEO and Chairman for 22 years before leading the company to a public‑company exit to SPS Commerce (NASDAQ: SPSC). He has since evolved into an advisor, investor, and leadership strategist with deep relationships across institutional capital.

Today, Steven is Co‑Founder and CEO of 6116.ai and Submittal Factory, and a General Partner with the 6116 Income and Alpha Funds. He leads Great Castle's investment and advisory practice — partnering with founders on growth strategy, exit preparation, and capital structure.

Steven also serves as a Chair with Vistage Worldwide, the world's largest leadership development platform — a role through which he pays forward accumulated wisdom and experience to mentor the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs. He considers it a meaningful part of giving back to the business community writ large.
